An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Front End Developer to join our TEG Technology team based in Makati City, Manila on a full-time basis. Due to COVID-19 and General Community Quarantine restrictions, this role will temporarily require you to work remotely.
The Technology team are a group of motivated and ambitious IT professionals who support the delivery of an integration lead innovation strategy. We have a culture of individual initiative, problem solving and a willingness to commit to resolution. This role will be responsible for developing and driving the technical structure, supporting feature rich business solutions in responsive design and mobile apps and making sure we achieve and exceed our performance standards for functionality. Please note whilst working remotely, you may at times be required to work during Australian working hours from 6am – 3pm (PHST) and adjust accordingly when required to come into the office.
The role
As a Front End Developer, your role responsibilities will be to:
  • Develop front end interfaces that are responsive, function well and are visually appealing under a wide range of user display scenarios (and that follow a progressive enhancement mindset). 
  • Produce responsive custom content, code and scripts to provide top notch digital commerce and mobile solutions for our stakeholders  
  • Test front end site enhancements, bug fixes and functional developments. Work collaboratively with the Senior Front-End Developers to give feedback and be the first line response for resolving production issues. 
  • Assist with managing the deployment of product release lifecycle 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the web team to ensure that content production is aligned with our technical and business requirements. 
  • Assess, design, and develop front end solutions in alignment with WCAG 2.0. 
  • Other duties as reasonably required. 
You will be dealing with these main stakeholders:
  • Internal: Developers, Digital Producer, Technical leads, Technology team
  • External: Suppliers and technology partners
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following essential experiences & skills:
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, JSON, XML, XSLT 
  • Experience with Javascript libraries and frameworks libraries such JQuery, KnockOut.js, Angular.js and React 
  • Workflow automation tools exposure e.g. Webpack, Grunt, Gulp, npm 
  • Refined User Interface design skills 
  • Solid experience with responsive web design and frameworks e.g. Bootstrap 
  • An understanding of performance monitoring and optimisation considerations, e.g. minification, caching, JavaScript performance 
  • Knowledge of Git source control and methodologies  
  • Google Analytics, Google Analytics Premium; or Adobe Analytics set-up, tagging, and data architecture experience 
  • Knowledge of consuming web services and be familiar with AJAX/ CORS. 
  • Knowledge of Server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SASS or LESS  
  • A deep understanding of configuration, performance issues and security issues related to web applications. (e.g. XSS, CSRF, session theft) 
The following experience & skills would be desirable:
  • A good grasp of RESTful APIs 
  • Experience working with the Microsoft Development ecosystem, e.g. C#, .Net 
  • Designing and Building websites using Wordpress 
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment 
  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence, or similar workflow process tools 
  • CI/CD, cloud, CDN and hosting infrastructure. (E.g. Amazon AWS knowledge) skills
