Fluxion Incorporated is one of the preferred platform development partners of key players in the local mobile technology industry. The company, founded on March 2001, was the first beneficiary of iAyala’s Incubation Program for technology start-ups that have promising innovations for the new economy. The program provided seed-stage funding to Fluxion, and was housed in the UP-Ayala Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Park until 2004. iAyala is the Internet investment arm of the Ayala Group of Companies.
Fluxion, Inc. launched its first product, FatBox, in 2001, a wireless application platform that offers storage and file-sharing solutions for wireless users in the consumer and corporate market. FatBox, better known as Globe StorIt, was followed by major MMS and SMS applications launched locally by Globe Telecoms. Currently, it manages systems in Globe Telecom portal/ official website, which it also developed in 2011. The portal houses the customer service/after sales support, billing, online shop, knowledge base and content management systems (CMS).
Fluxion, Inc. formed a strategic partnership with Xurpas, Inc. in 2005, when the former graduated from the Incubation Program. Xurpas is one of the biggest content providers in the country with existing businesses in the regions in South Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
Now, Fluxion continues to provide platform development and consultancy services for Globe Telecom’s MMS, SMS, WAP/GPRS, web, Java, and voice-based value-added services, as well as other back-end platforms, such as billing, registration and subscription. It has secured service level agreements (SLA) to provide major operations support for numerous platforms and services.
The company has also expanded to provide support and services to other local industry leaders such as Sun Microsystems, ABS-CBN, Samsung, Ericsson, Airphil Express, and Nestle, among others. It also partnered with government agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and local government of Antipolo City. It has even launched a service in India, Buddy Recharge, via !dea Cellular Ltd. of the Aditya Birla Group, one of the country’s leading telecommunications service provider, as well as created systems for ABS-CBN Global, which has operations in North America.
